
DevOps Lead
As a DevOps Lead, you will own and drive the vision, roadmap, and execution for our internal platform capabilities. Your mission is to lead a small Platform team and manage both cloud and on-premise infrastructure, following the DevOps methodology by enabling scalability, reliability, and productivity through the development of internal tooling, APIs, infrastructure components, and shared services.
The platform infrastructure and services are composed of the following elements:
- AWS Cloud infrastructure.
- On-premise servers (located in our server room and quantum lab).
- Internal services (like Slurm and Grafana).
- QaaS APIs (written in Python).
Specific responsibilities included in the role:
- Ensure the reliability and availability of the platform infrastructure for internal and external users.
- Lead the Platform team, define and prioritise the team backlog, and coordinate incident response and infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate with engineers to deliver improvements in platform infrastructure and developer experience for internal and external users.
- Execute technical tasks alongside the team and perform regular code reviews.
- Contribute to strategic decisions regarding cloud and on-premise systems, as well as internal tooling.
- Work cross-functionally with other teams (Tech, Business, and Operations)
- Participate in the future OnCall process
Minimum requirements
- 3+ years of experience managing AWS infrastructure.
- 3+ years of experience managing on-premise infrastructure.
- Experience with networking, storage, monitoring, databases and system administration tools.
- Experience with services like GitHub Actions, Slurm, Ansible, and Grafana.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish.
- Proactivity, ownership and strong problem-solving skills.
Nice to have:
- Experience as a team leader and managing a development backlog.
- Python development experience (Flask, Django).
- Experience in an OnCall team.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, containerization and virtualization.
- Experience managing third-party service providers.
- Experience with Cybersecurity or IT management.
- Background or interest in Physics / Quantum Computing.
