Grants Specialist

As a Grants Specialist, you will contribute to drive Qilimanjaro's growth and success. You will be responsible for identifying national and international funding opportunities, and for preparing project proposals, both for public and private initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and track international, national, and regional funding opportunities aligned with Qilimanjaro’s objectives.
• Ensure compliance with call guidelines and conduct quality checks prior to submission.
• Collaborate with internal teams to understand project needs and advise stakeholders on grant requirements and processes.
• Draft and review proposals, narratives, budgets, support letters, and consortium agreements to ensure clarity and alignment with funder priorities.
• Work closely with the finance and project management teams to develop funder-compliant budgets and align resource planning.
• Facilitate communication with external consultants and coordinate with partners in multi-partner projects to ensure consistency.
• Review and negotiate consortium agreements and other relevant legal documents.
• Maintain an updated database of funding deadlines, requirements, and documentation to guarantee timely and complete submissions.

Minimum requirements:

We are looking for motivated candidates with a creative, collaborative, proactive and diligent personality, meeting the following criteria:

• Demonstrated experience in (public or private) pre-award administration, identifying regional, national, and international funding opportunities.
• Strong understanding of compliance and eligibility conditions of public calls.
• Ability to build project proposals in coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
• Solid experience with budget development and ability to analyse implications of proposed budgets.
• Experience in interpreting legal documents, including funding guidelines, R&D agreements, and regulatory policies.
• Experience preparing proposals in the field of deep-tech.
• Experience in project management, covering the entire project lifecycle, including post-award (desirable).
• Bachelor’s degree in Physics/Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• Fluent in Spanish, Catalan, and English.

Soft skills:

• Strong analytical, organization, detail-oriented, and proofreading skills.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills for effective written and verbal communication in Spanish and English.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of work performance, identify challenges, and recommend course of action for resolution.
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines with professionalism.
