Description
Qilimanjaro Quantum Tech is looking for a Senior Quantum Layout Engineer to lead the design and simulation of superconducting quantum processors. This role involves developing processor architectures, performing numerical simulations to extract key parameters, and drawing final layouts for fabrication. The ideal candidate has a strong background in superconducting qubits, experience with finite-element simulations, and a deep understanding of quantum device design principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Design the quantum processor architecture for fabrication.
- Perform finite-element simulations to extract relevant device parameters.
- Develop and optimize quantum circuit layouts to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with the hardware team to ensure seamless integration of design and fabrication.
Minimum requirements
- PhD in Physics or a related field, with a focus on superconducting qubits.
- Experience with finite-element simulations for quantum device modeling.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Programming experience (Python or other relevant languages).
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Experience in transmon (or fluxonium) measurements is highly desirable.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with flux-qubits or fluxoniums.
- Strong expertise in microwave engineering is highly valued.
Additional Information
- Work will be primarily onsite, with possibility for remote work during the week.
